“Celebration as Resistance: How Joy Supports Activism”

As Unitarian Universalists, social justice activism is part of our long history and helps build our imagined future. But social justice work can be exhausting and requires moments of reprieve – including space for celebration. Celebration is joy in action and can be a powerful tool for resistance – not only in helping us maintain hope but in building community. Moments of joy reconnect us with our values, our community, and can help us thrive as individuals and as communities.
