Grounds & Sounds Cafe welcomes Christine Sweeney & The Dirty Stayouts on Fri., Nov. 14, 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.

With a voice as powerful as it is sultry and sweet, singer/songwriter Christine Sweeney deftly handles poppy and playful without sacrificing genuine emotion to create her version of indie blues pop. Her sometimes gritty, sometimes sugary vocals soar over a rhythmic guitar to build songs that are heavily focused on the feel of the lyrics but also illustrate that she’s no stranger to complexities in harmony. The show begins with an Open Mic at 7:30 (sign-up at 7:00); the main act goes on at about 8:15.
