Tiny Tots

We offer care for our youngest children in the Tiny Tots program on most Sundays during Worship Services. Here children play and explore their world, develop a foundation of trust with the compassionate care of our experienced childcare providers, and build relationships with other children.  Note: Please contact the Directors of Religious Education at DRE@UUFSB.org for summer and holiday availability.

Religious Education (RE) Classes

We offer RE classes for our children in kindergarten through 4th grade and 5th through 8th grades most Sunday mornings during services. Visiting children are welcome. Children explore their own beliefs and values, experience wonder, build relationships with teachers and other children, develop spiritual tools for living in their changing world, and put their values into action through service projects. We work together to create beloved community in RE classes, our congregation, and the world.

Religious Education Class Curriculum

During the 2026/2027 Religious Education year, our classes will be incorporating the Soul Matters curriculum offered by the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA).  Please click here for more information about the Soul Matters curriculum or contact us by emailing DRE@UUFSB.org

Additional Middle School Programs

Coming of Age (COA)

This program prepares youth in grades 7-9 (ages 12-15) for the transition into young adulthood. Through a series of projects and classes with trained leaders and personal mentors, youth explore and develop their own religious philosophy, better understand Unitarian Universalism, develop friendships with other UU youth and discuss issues important to them. Their efforts are recognized by their home congregations and by the greater UU community at the completion of the program in June. Please click here for more information or contact the Directors of Religious Education at DRE@UUFSB.org.

Our Whole Lives (OWL)

The OWL program is a comprehensive UU sexuality education program designed for use in religious communities. There is a course for youth in grades 7-9 (ages 12-15) that provides an age-appropriate series of lessons.  Led by adults who have received special training, the program addresses the current needs of the youth and helps prepare them for healthy, meaningful relationships in the future.  The OWL program addresses not only the physical aspects of sexuality, but also the spiritual, emotional, and cultural ones, taking a holistic view of sexuality.
