Le Petit Salon de Musique presents gifted musicians performing some of the world’s most beautiful music in an intimate and accessible setting. Romance will be in the air at UUFSB on Sun., Feb. 16 at 2:00 p.m. Hidden Threads: Love In All Its Keys features Eric Tsai, violin, and Calvin Hu, piano.
Eric Tsai is a Taiwanese-American violinist whose playing has been described as both “dashing” and “heart-wrenching” (NZ Herald). Eric has garnered critical acclaim and awards as a soloist and chamber player on stages worldwide. Hear Eric play Paganini here. Recent projects include Callis Ensemble, a chamber society based in Westchester, NY, as well as a new series of video projects exploring the themes of grief and hope. Eric is currently a doctoral candidate and Staller Fellow at Stony Brook University. Find more information about Eric here.
Calvin Hu is a pianist, chamber musician and educator. Critics have praised his playing as expression and eloquence that “recruit both tension and melody,” (TakeEffect Reviews, 2023). An award winning performer and passionate educator, Calvin has been a chamber coach with the Young Artist’s Program at Stony Brook University and a recipient of the Suffolk Piano Teachers Foundation Scholarship. He recently completed his Doctorate in Performance at Stony Brook University and is currently on faculty at the Geneva Conservatory of Music and the 92NY School of Music.
