Aug. 7, 2022 – "Thinking Fast and Slow: Decision-Making...It's Not What You Think!" – Colleen Rudman, Worship Leader

In Thinking Fast and Slow, Nobelist Daniel Kahneman offers his vision of flawed human reason, asserting that we quite often mis-assess situations and we do so following fairly predictable patterns. He includes an abundance of fascinating examples that really do call into question our assumptions about how we make decisions. How might these insights challenge us as UUs?

shawl ministry3Participants meet to knit and crochet shawls for members of the Fellowship who are going through a time of difficulty or celebration and could benefit from the physical comfort of a shawl made by members of this special ministry. At each meeting, once we've had a chance to catch up with each other a bit, there's a specific format we follow that includes knitting while thinking of folks in our lives who are going through troubling times, and knitting in silence, and blessing the handiwork, among other things. It's always interesting to see what everyone's working on, and how much they've progressed since the last meeting.

We meet the 2nd Thursday evening of the month from 7:00-8:30 pm. for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Beginners and experienced hand-workers alike are welcomed. If you're looking for another way to make a contribution to the Fellowship, connect with folks in a relaxed setting, and would like to knit or crochet with others, come down and give it a try. If you know someone who would benefit from a shawl, we'd also like to hear from you.. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Shelly Psaris ().
